Photography: Catskills in Color
There's nothing quite like the Catskills to get you out of a photo-taking rut. Taken over the course of late summer and early fall 2023, the images ended up reflecting the things that caught my eye as I spent time upstate with my grandparents: flowers, birch trees with eyes, clouds that frame the landscape, and bright colors. I had some fun experimenting with deliberate blurriness, shifting the focus from close-up subjects to the background, and using my own shadow as a compositional element. Taken on an Olympus OM–1n with Portra 400 film.
