Photography: Italy
I spent the spring of 2023 studying in Florence, Italy, and tried my best to work through a roll of color film while I was abroad. There were some images I really ended up liking, and others I'm still divided on, but overall what defines this roll for me is the darkness and graininess of the tones. Part of that might come down to me trusting the internal light meter a little too faithfully and accidentally underexposing my frames; another possibility is that the company I used to develop and scan the images did something special, although I'm increasingly doubting that. Either way, these pictures are definitely different from anything else I've done. Taken with an Olympus OM–1n and Portra 400 film.
